Its February, time to document my Tamagotchi journey.

The clear case for my Paradise came in! Put some stickers on it and I'm planning on making a keychain thing for it too. :)

Been seeing people online completely swap out the shell of these things and tbh it looks really tempting. I really like the look of transparent plastic on electronics, and I know for a fact that such a shell does exist, but honestly that might be something I do later on down the line.

Since last post, I got a Batchi, and decided to try out the breeding mechanic. Bred them with a Horhotchi (bad desision) and the baby got their big giant eyes. Tbh I wouldn't have had a problem with them if it wasnt for me haphazardly trying to get another tama for the water biome, and ending up with another Gusokutchi except purple and it's got those damn eyes. Really wasn't happy with that so i got a brand new egg asap. Maybe in the future I'll try out the breeding mechanic a bit more, right now I just wanna fill out the biomes and get different default tamas.

Breeding mechanics aside, the cutscene/animation that plays for when you actually get two tamas to breed is very cute :) I really wish there was a way to properly upload and showcase the unique animations on these things. Kinda shitty that I gotta take videos the old fashioned way but its whatever.

Next one I'm gonna try to get on the Paradise is gonna be a Kutchipatchi. It's something about the original Tamagotchi characters man, they just got the sauce.

On the Uni, i married off my Kutchipatchi to start anew. Really strange to me that in this device, the Tamagotchi's are more "human", like how they talk and stuff lol, idk how else to describe them. But this guy got married in freaking the tamagotchi equivalent of VR Chat, verbally proposed, and then disappeared into the virtual sunset with their virtual spouse.

I was really hoping for a girl so I could try getting one of the characters from the Berry dlc, but a ended up with a boy. Man, the boys are never as cute as the girls. So I raised it like normal and got a Mametchi. Nothing crazy or exciting, but I'll raise it and marry it off to try for a girl again.

While it's kinda true that the other two Tamagotchi's I got going right now are taking up more of my attention, I'm not done with the Connection just yet. After dealing with the battery dying on me mid-mini game (I know now to shut off the sound while doing stuff like that), I finally got past my 1st generation and now I got this cool guy. I remember really liking this guy back when I was younger, so I'm pretty happy with how things are going on this one.

I find that taking care of the Connection is so much more difficult than the more modern Tamagotchi's, but idk, the nostalgia factor makes it worth it. Look at how this guy eats with his strange mouth. Absolutely charming.

Got myself a Tamagotchi Uni :)

Idk whats up lately but I've been seeing more Tamagotchi stuff irl at the Videogame Store. Back when I was getting my Tamagotchi Angel, I saw they were selling the Uni's but didn't decide to buy. I've seen them online but they've always been really expensive, so I've never got one for that reason alone. I thought about it, and now I got it lol, and it's just wild how much larger the Paradise is in comparison to the uni. I really like how the battery is rechargeable, and how it can connect to WiFi, and how you can "walk" with it to get items and idk, the whole concept is very different to the paradise but its still very enjoyable.

This week I got my boy Kuchipatchi on my Uni, and this Isopod looking guy Gusokutchi on my Paradise

Its fair to say that I ordered some cases for both of these guys. I'll be sure to include them in the next post (depending on when they actually come in), I think they're really cute. It's really nice to revisit old interests and have them still feel fresh. These little guys are so cute, I can't wait to get a proper case for them so I can take them outside the house :)

It's important to have hobbies that don't involve scrolling on social media. Try to invest whatever time you could be spending on there, in a hobby. Algorithms are made for us to get addicted to mindlessly scrolling, so do something else. Make something, read a book, indulge in odd interests, whatever it is to get away from scrolling for hours, do that instead. Don't let the big corporations suck the whimsy out of enjoying life.

Revisiting Childhood Interests

 I freaking love Tamagotchi's.

I've had a few when I was a kid, a v4.5 and a v5, and I still have them on display in my room, but they're definitely aged. A couple years ago I wanted to play with them again, but idk what's wrong because it'll quickly run out of battery despite me putting in a fresh one. It was fun for a while though, to revisit the nostalgia.

I've thought about getting the rerelased Connections. I'm not from the States, so it was hard to find them locally when they first came out and tbh I wasn't that motivated to look online. I dropped the idea until the end of last year where I realized I really wanted that damn tamagotchi.

December of last year I treated myself to a Tamagotchi Connection, a gift to myself. The clear retro one because I really like the look of see through electronics. And I've been in love. Since then, I've bought the rereleased Tamagotchi Gen 3 Angel and the more modern Tamagotchi Paradise. I love these little guys so much, it's so much fun to try and get the tama you want. Re-igniting an old childhood interest as an adult with adult money is so rewarding.

January 2, 2026

Oh yeah let's go. It's a new year so let's do a silly little blog.

Yesterday I was busy with family, having the arbitrary New Years dinner. Not sure if other people even do that, it seems like a lot to be seeing family back to back with Christmas being so close to new years.

idk, but i was inspired by this post to start up something like this. As a lot of people probably do, I yearn for the old times of the internet. Where pretty much everyone had their own blog. I was too young to have a MySpace account, and by the time I was old enough, I got a Facebook because most of my friends had one at the time. Those 2010 era Facebook games had me in a chokehold man I miss when platforms did that.

Kids are missing out these days imo. There's no true space for them to thrive and spend their time. When I was a kid I had those free web browser "social" games, like Club Penguin, Fantage, Webkinz, Moshi Monsters, and the list goes on and on. If it had a free web based site, I probably had an account for it. It was a fun time to be growing up in, and now kids have what? Tiktok? Instagram? I genuinely don't think they have anywhere that's truly meant for them where there's no adults, only kids. But that's a topic for another time.

I'm Cas. I'm in my mid 20s and I like weird alternative/nerdy shit. I like music ranging from alternative rock/metal/emo music, to vocaloid/edm/rave/hyperpop. I like to craft, draw, and play video games, but moreso drawing tbh lol. I draw cartoons, mainly character drawings. I have a focus on original characters, either ones that are my own or some of my friend's characters. I do a little bit of fanart, but drawing isn't my main job, so I think it's ok to stick to what I feel like doing :p

I don't expect this blog to go anywhere crazy, so maybe I'll post my drawings, or what I've been up to. Idk. The web needs to feel more personal, and I'm eager to try this out.
